Harbin Institute of Technology, headquartered in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, is a key domestic university directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It is listed in the national "first-rate universities and disciplines", "Project 985" and "Project 211". Founding member of Nine University Alliance, Association of Pacific Rim Universities, Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universites, Sino-Spanish University Alliance, Alliance of China Artificial Intelligence Education, Curriculum Ideological and Political Alliance of domestic top universities. The university was founded in 1920, the name of the founding of Harbin Russian-Russian Industrial School, after the Sino-Russian industrial University, East Province Special Zone Industrial University period. In 1928, itwas officially named Harbin Institute of Technology. In 1951, it was identified as one of the two model universities in the national model of foreign higher education. It entered the ranks of the first six universities in the national key construction in 1954 and entered the first batch of key universities under the national "Project 211 "in 1996. In 1999, it was identified as one of the first nine universities in the national "Project 985" key construction. In 2000, it merged with Harbin University of Architecture to form the new Harbin Institute of Technology.
