School of Physics and Electronics, Hunan University - The Partner of Lab Companion

    School of Physics and Electronics of Hunan University has a long history and profound educational tradition. In 1897, as an important source of modern Hunan University's current Affairs School, Chinese general instructor Liang Qichao formulated the "Study Contract" to encourage students to study "the science of Gezhi manufacturing", Western general instructor Li Weige taught physics knowledge, his nephew, China's first doctor of physics Li Fuji also studied in the current Affairs School, becoming the beginning of the school's physics education.

    In 1903, Hunan College of Higher Learning, which was restructured from Shiwu Academy and Yuelu Academy, opened physics course, which was the first subject to be taught by foreign teachers. In 1910, the Department of Mathematical Physics was established in Hunan Superior Normal School. In 1924, Hunan Industrial School set up the Department of Mathematics and Science. In 1926, Hunan Industrial School, Law and Administration School and Business School were merged to form Hunan University, and the Department of Mathematics and Science became one of the eight departments of the four disciplines at the beginning of the school. In 1933, the Department of Mathematics and Science was divided into two departments: physics and mathematics.

    After the founding of the People's Republic of China, it has experienced changes and development from the Department of Physics, the Department of basic courses (applied physics, semiconductor devices), the Department of applied Physics to the School of Physics and Microelectronics Science.

    For more than a hundred years, Yi Gan Qiu, Xiong Zhengli, Xie Yuming, Tian Qu, Xie Houfan, Ge Xuchu, Shi Renqiu and other former sages have been taught in this, and endured hardships to open the mountains and forests; Scholars such as Xia Yuanli, Wen Shi, Cao Xiumao, Zhou Xiaoqian, etc. have successively taught in here, preaching and teaching, and educating people by virtue. It has trained outstanding alumni such as Zhang Zhongdi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Government Administration Council of the Central People's Government and Director of the Office of the Prime Minister, and Chen Xingdan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
